STORYTELLING, HERITAGE AND ENVIRONMENT

Storytelling is a powerful tool for engaging, inspiring and educating people about our cultural and natural heritage. Every culture has a tradition of storytelling and what was once an oral tradition, is now taking many forms including writing, community festivals and digital storytelling. Our heritage is made up of a rich tapestry of living stories which we tell about ourselves within our communities, historical stories which we preserve in places like museums and published stories in books, videos and on the internet.

My storytelling programs draw from a combination of traditional cultural tales, creation stories and original tales, aiming to instill a sense of wonder about our world. This wonder creates a sense of connection, of curiosity, of a desire to know more, and in turn, it opens our eyes, ears, hearts and minds to discover and explore new information about our world and our place in it.

Story Studio’s mission is to connect people and places through stories. This is reflected in a broad palate of services and programs for organisations, historians, interpreters, guides, teachers and the general public.
