From a lifetime of experience, we all have stories to share. Sometimes it takes a little encouragement to speak up and to find friends and family who will listen. Other times, it takes  a little guidance and confidence to spin a really good story, taking the time to remember and to craft it.

I have developed a series of workshops which will help you to find a starting point for writing and/or telling your life stories in an engaging and well crafted way. You will discover how to awaken your imagination and memory, tapping into the rich images behind the stories which are held in your head and your heart. Using basic story writing techniques, you will learn some strategies for sorting through your stories, finding connecting points and themes, developing characters and making the leap from the personal to the universal meaning.

These workshops have been designed to meet your needs with flexible delivery. From two hours to a day to a week, I will create a learning space which is open and safe for all people at any skills level. A lot of the work is based on story sharing and reflecting, with a depth of sensitivity to the emotions within our stories.

I am delighted to be working in collaboration with a wonderful storyteller, writer and author, John Hockney. Together we have developed a weekend workshop for writing and telling your stories.

Yourlife – Yourstory will be held in the Blue Mountains November 17 – 19.
