Sharing stories together is a fundamental way to learn about each other, to make connections and to celebrate our lives. Through stories, we can provide foundations for life learning and help children to understand their world and their place in it. There’s a lot of heart and wisdom within the diversity of story traditions which includes traditional told stories, family anecdotes, nursery rhymes, bush yarns and contemporary children’s literature.

As parents, carers, educators and friends, adults have a vital role in helping children to grow into this world feeling loved, supported and valued. When we share stories together, play together, laugh together and spend fun time together, we help children to stand strong and to feel good about themselves. The stories we tell our children today, help to shape the stories which they tell about themselves, and the way that they see the world.

I enjoy helping children, families and communities, to learn more about the art of storytelling and to make places and spaces for storytelling in our everyday lives. My storytelling workshops, shows and special talks aim to bring people together to enjoy listening to stories, to create new stories together, to remember cultural and family stories and most importantly of all, to take time to play!
