ONCE UPON A SONG - Music & Stories for Kids Anna
Jarrett & Ann Lehmann
Coproduced and
created with my friend and musician extraordinaire, Ann Lehmann, our CD has
been getting rave reviews from kids,
parents and educators. We’ve also been enjoying playing live at festivals
including the National Folk Festival in Once Upon A Song is
an original and imaginative approach to nursery rhymes and the stories behind
them with an Aussie twist. A little bit funky and a little bit folky, it
features lots of musical styles which you can sing, dance and play along with
from bluegrass to tango, lullabies to jazz. A CD with a difference, it’s made
to be played and enjoyed at parties, in the car, in preschools, at home and
wherever else you can think of! ORDERS You can get your copy of Once Upon A Song On the web. Order here or from your local independent book/record/toy store if

“The songs and stories promote friendship, sharing and co-operation amongst young children. It is an excellent C.D. for the encouragement of all good social and language skills. Children just love to go over it again and again. A valuable resource for all educators- (Teachers and Parents.) “There is a
lovely flow with the CD, leaving children in an inner, gentle place: a nice
place to be. I love the intention of the CD, “May the tunes and tales live in
your hearts and homes, keeping alive the tradition of music making and
storytelling together.” Kristen, Editor The Well Journal, Winter 2006,
Bowral, NSW “This CD will help
revive many adult memories of nursery rhymes from past childhoods, and may even
inspire you to develop your own.It will also provide many ideas to help feed
adult imaginations for use in story-time with children.” Eurobodalla Steiner Community
Newsletter, Autumn 2006, NSW
“Anna Jarrett’s special talent in weaving a magical story will have the children gathering around to listen….With its unpretentious and unobtrusive tone you won’t mind when the kid’s want to listen to this C.D again and again”. Mel, Mum, for Trad & Now Magazine 2008
“The CD is a veritable
feast for the senses. As a teacher, this CD is a springboard into many other
key learning areas such as writing, visual arts and drama. I believe that all
children who enter this world, naturally sing, dance and dramatise. Your CD
fosters this innate ability and is an absolute delight to listen to.” Jane Blonkampf, Teacher and Mother of Breeah, Aiden & Roan “I've used the CD in
therapy (bereavement) - children have loved listening at night time to go to
sleep to or to comfort them during the day. They really get a lot from it - I
love it too.” Kate (Registered Music Therapist) “Your CD is brilliant.
Its saved us many a time, especially on long long trips. Its the only
one we can bear to listen to over & over again. Thank you!” Jane Lander, Mum “One of your CDs was
purchased for a young child having an operation in hospital – her mother
thought it might calm her before she went into the theatre. The mother came
back and said it worked really well and the little girl likes to play it
before bedtime each night. You have the gift to calm and settle young
children” Liz – Magpie Music,
