Anna Jarrett is an internationally acclaimed storyteller and accredited trainer. Her magical tale telling has been featured at major festivals including the New Orleans Jazzfest, The Australian National Festival of Storytelling the Woodford Folk Festival and the National Folk Festival.

With a passion for stories and travelling, Anna presents an eclectic range of storytelling performances and workshops in communities across Australia and overseas. Anna Jarrett’s stories have been enjoyed by audiences of ABC’s Radio National as well as on television shows across the USA.

Drawing from a diverse repertoire of traditional and original tales, Anna’s storytelling and music programs draw from her professional training in the performing arts, music and education as well as her world travel experiences and meetings with storytellers from many cultural traditions.

Combining twenty years experience as a community artist and educator, Anna enjoys storytelling with people of all ages. Jarrett sees her role as a storyteller to bring children, families and communities together to facilitate story sharing, to create new stories and to celebrate their life stories and community history. Anna’s creative workshops have helped thousands of people around Australia to share their stories as part of events such as Seniors Week, International Women's Day and History Week.

Dedicated to nurturing a storytelling culture back into our communities, Anna enjoys collaborating on projects which look into, reflect and celebrate the unique cultures within each community. Through story circles, artist residencies, retreats, school tours, consultancy work, community cultural projects, oral history projects,  professional development workshops and special events, Anna is working with a network of storytellers around Australia who are creating places and spaces for the oral tradition of storytelling, to become an integral part of our cultures and lives.
